Chatham County Supports Quick Approval
An article from Triangle Business Journal by Amanda Jones Hoyle tells that Chatham County Economic Development Director, Dianne Reed, is in support of pushing the Chatham Park master plan through. Certainly, jobs will be created, however she also apparently has some stub-outs in her neighborhood she’d like to see completed (sections of road for future road development that are left until those roads are needed). With all we have at risk with this plan, are road stub-outs truly sufficient reason to approve this development?
While many of us attended the pivitol November 25 Board of Commissioner’s meeting in the Town of Pittsboro, where our commissioners voted 4-1 to table a vote on the requested rezoning and hire experts to review the Chatham Park Master Plan, Hoyle reports:
“The day after midnight adjournment of the Pittsboro Board of Commissioners meeting Nov. 25 when the board voted to table a decision about Chatham Park’s master plan, the 15-member board of directors for Chatham County Economic Development passed a resolution in support of the quick approval of Chatham Park’s master plan.”
As of this writing, an RFQ (Request for Qualifications) has not been posted to the town’s website as indicated. http://pittsboronc.gov/
