Chatham Park’s draft Additional Elements
Chatham Park’s “details” come up short
Additional Elements – inadequate, disappointing, insulting…
When Chatham Park Investors (CPI) rejected key recommendations of Pittsboro’s independent expert consultant (the Lawrence Group) and submitted a shockingly inadequate master plan two years ago, the Town Board told the public not to worry: The developers would be required to submit extensive details on every aspect of their vague proposal through Additional Elements, Small Area Plans and a Development Agreement. These were to include specifications that would fulfill CPI’s promise of “exceptional design, character and quality.”
Well, we’ve seen CPI’s draft Additional Elements, which you may read in full (127 pages) online. Sadly, they are inadequate, disappointing, and insulting to those of us who already live, work and play here.
